Translating your website on your own may sound a bit daunting. The good news is that you don't have to. You can invite your co-workers or linguists to collaborate with you on your project.
Note that if you wish to show the work-in-progress to a linguist for review, they do not need to sign up for MP Express. On the main preview screen, click Share and Copy public link. This will put a link into your clipboard that you can share with other members of your team. The translated website can be viewed by anyone with the link without logging in.
Invite
If they need more access, you can head to the Team section on the Dashboard. Here, you can grant access to collaborators via their email address. In this scenario, they will need to sign up for MP Express to be able to access the Dashboard.
The invite dialogue is fairly simple. Just fill in the email address of the person you wish to invite, select their role and the target languages that they should get access to. Optionally, you can edit the message that is sent to them.
Two roles are available for collaborators:
- Editor: Editors have access to the translator editor and most sections. However, they are restricted to the target languages that you specified.
- Admin: You're an Admin. Others that you invite with this role have the same privileges as you do, including access to all languages.
Accepting an invite
We will send the recipient an email explaining that they have been invited to collaborate with you. The message you enter is also included.
They just have to click the link we include. This will open a new tab. Here they can create their account or log in. Then, they are presented a blue button to accept the invite. Finally, they are provided with a button to navigate to the Dashboard.
Change permissions
If you accidentally sent an invitation with the incorrect permissions, you can revoke it before it is redeemed. The steps are as follows:
- Go to the Team section if you're not there already.
- Under pending invites, you'll see all invites you or other admins sent.
- Each invite has an action button, ⋮. Click on it.
- Select Remove.
While we can not delete the email from the recipient's inbox, the link will no longer be valid.
Note that with the above-mentioned action button also allows you to re-send invitations if they were misplaced or didn't arrive for any reason.
After an invitation is redeemed, you can elevate a user from Editor to Admin by sending them a new invitation with the updated permissions. Once they accept it, they will have the updated permissions.
Revoke access
Once the project is fully set up, you may want to remove collaborators from your project whose contributions are no longer needed. You can do so with the following steps:
- Go to the Team section.
- Under Members, find the person whose access you need to revoke.
- Find the action button (⋮), click it.
- Select Delete.
